THE LONGINES WORLD’S BEST RACEHORSE RANKINGS

The official listing of the world’s best racehorses

(For 3yos and upwards which raced between 1st January and 5th October 2025)

 

As the result of his winning effort in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1), DARYZ (FR) [127] is now the co-second highest rated horse in the world in the eighth edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2025.

 

 

 

 

In the Arc, Daryz defeated MINNIE HAUK (IRE) [123] by a head in a dramatic finish. SOSIE (IRE) [120] was 5 ½ lengths behind in third. Daryz came into the race having finished second by a short head to CROIX DU NORD (JPN) [120] in the Prix du Prince d'Orange (G3). Earlier this season, Daryz won the Prix Eugene Adam (G2).

 

Minnie Hauk won the Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks (G1) in her previous start, and her other victories this year include the Betfred Oaks (G1) and the Juddmonte Irish Oaks (G1).

 

Other newcomers to the rankings this month include AL RIFFA (FR) [120] and ZEUS OLYMPIOS (GB) [120]. Al Riffa won the Comer Group International Irish St. Leger (G1) to be ranked. In his previous start, he took the Michael John Kennedy Curragh Cup (G2).

 

Meanwhile, Zeus Olympios is a perfect four-for-four this year with his biggest win to date coming in the Boyle Sports Daily Racing Rewards Joel Stakes (G2). He also won the Best Odds On The Betfair Exchange Superior Mile Stakes (G3) earlier in September.
