THE LONGINES WORLD’S BEST RACEHORSE RANKINGS

Following his victory in the Longines Dubai Sheema Classic (G1), DANON DECILE (JPN) [125] has joined the Top 3 in the second edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2025.

 

 

 

By winning the Dubai Sheema Classic over an accomplished field, Danon Decile raised his rating to 125 from 118. He took the race by 1 ¼ lengths over CALANDAGAN (IRE) [123], while DUREZZA (JPN) [120] was 1 ¾ lengths back in third. REBEL’S ROMANCE (IRE) [120], who won the race last year, was a neck back in fourth.

 

Danon Decile, whose previous top-level victory came in the 2024 Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby) (G1), began his 2025 campaign with a victory in the American Jockey Club Cup (G2) in January. Both Calandagan and Durezza were making their first starts of the year, while Rebel’s Romance won the H H The Amir Trophy (G3) in February.

 

 

SOUL RUSH (JPN) [121] also impressed in Dubai when he won the Dubai Turf Sponsored by DP World (G1) by a nose over ROMANTIC WARRIOR (IRE) [126]. MALJOOM (IRE) [118] finished third, 1 ¼ lengths behind the leaders.

 

Soul Rush began his season with a third-place finish in the Nakayama Kinen (G2), while Romantic Warrior came into the Dubai Turf off of a narrow defeat to FOREVER YOUNG (JPN) [127] in the Saudi Cup (G1). In January, Romantic Warrior won the Jebel Hatta Presented by Longines (G1).
