THE LONGINES WORLD’S BEST RACEHORSE RANKINGS

The official listing of the world’s best racehorses

(For 3yos and upwards which raced between 1^st January and 5^th June 2022)

 

Topped by BAAEED (GB) [125], who now leads the rankings on a rating of 125, a host of new horses have joined the fourth edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2022.

 

 

 

In his 2022 debut, Baaeed powered to victory by 3 ¼ lengths in the Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes (G1) to earn his rating of 125. The 4-year-old colt is now undefeated in seven career starts, and he is expected to race next Tuesday in the Queen Anne Stakes (G1) during Royal Ascot.

 

Three new horses have joined GOLDEN SIXTY (AUS) [122] in the co-fifth position on a rating of 122. BAY BRIDGE (GB) [122] began his season with a five-length score in the Coral Brigadier Gerard Stakes (G3); DESERT CROWN (GB) [122] won the Cazoo Derby (In Memory of Lester Piggott) (G1) by 2 ½ lengths to remain unbeaten; and VADENI (FR) [122] romped by five lengths in the Qatar Prix du Jockey Club (G1) to be ranked.

 

Additionally, on a rating of 121, HUKUM (IRE) [121] has joined the Top 10 following his win by 4 ¼ lengths in the Dahlbury Coronation Cup (G1) at Epsom.

Rounding out the rankings are three new horses who all earned a rating of 120 in the past month. ALENQUER (FR) [120] won the Tattersalls Gold Cup (G1) by a neck; DO DEUCE (JPN) [120] took the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby) (G1) by a neck; and HOMELESS SONGS (IRE) [120] defeated Tuesday by 5 ½ lengths in the Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas (G1).
