Round Table Conference Video Replay, Transcripts now Available on jockeyclub.com

A video replay, official transcripts and PowerPoint presentations from The Jockey Club’s 61st Annual Round Table Conference on Matters Pertaining to Racing from Saratoga Springs, N.Y., are now available at jockeyclub.com.
 
The conference was held Sunday, August 11, 2013.
 
Masayuki Goto, the executive director of Racing Administration Policies, Stable System and Breeding of the Japan Racing Association (JRA), and Brian Kavanagh, chief executive officer of Horse Racing Ireland, shared insights on policies, initiatives and business operations of their respective organizations.
 
Stuart S. Janney III, vice chairman of The Jockey Club and chairman of the Thoroughbred Safety Committee, announced that The Jockey Club will offer up to $250,000 in funding for out-of-competition testing in 2014 and 2015.
 
Dr. Hiram C. Polk Jr., who is a member of the Thoroughbred Safety Committee, presented a report on a recent study analyzing the performance of American pedigrees in Australia and freelance writer Ryan Goldberg provided a journalist’s perspective on medication issues.
 
Robert Green of Penn Schoen Berland, a Washington, D.C.-based market research and consulting firm, presented the results of a recent consumer poll of bettors.
 
Jason Wilson, vice president of business development for The Jockey Club, provided an update on The Jockey Club’s fan development initiatives, and Michael Mulvihill, the senior vice president of programming and research for FOX Sports Media Group, outlined the newly created series of racing telecasts on FOX Sports 1 that was announced by FOX Sports Media Group and The Jockey Club on Thursday. James L. Gagliano, president and chief operating officer of The Jockey Club, presented an update on the activities of The Jockey Club.
