Australian and Singapore totes aim at commingling pools

Australia's largest tote operator Tabcorp and the Singapore Turf Club have signed an agreement that should ultimartely lead to Australians and Singaporians betting together on eachothers races into the same betting pool.

In the short term, both operators, who hold the international image rights of their domestic racing will increase their offer of the others' racing. In 2009, the Singapore Turf Club will increase its display of Australian racing to 500 races. In return, Tabcorp will take bets in Australia on all Singapore races. Legal and technical hurdles prevent the betting into common pools today, but both operators are confident that this will change in the coming years.
