New Appointments to Board of Horse Racing Ireland

Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) is pleased to announce new members of its Board following their appointment by the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, Mr John O'Donoghue T.D.

Francis Hyland (bookmakers representative) appointed to replace Seamus Mulvaney Nicholas Wachman (Turf Club) appointed in place of Frank Clarke Noel Cloake (HRI Betting Division staff member) appointed to replace Eddie Browne (representative of persons employed in the industry) Dermot Cantillon (breeders representative) appointed for second term

Welcoming the appointments Denis Brosnan, Chairman of HRI said: "Seamus Mulvaney, Frank Clarke and Eddie Browne have each made a significant contribution to the work of the Board, particularly in relation to the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan for the industry. I am delighted to welcome their successors and am confident that Francis Hyland, Nicholas Wachman and Noel Cloake, who each bring a wealth of knowledge and experience of racing, will emulate their record of service and dedication to the work of HRI in developing the thoroughbred racing and breeding industry in Ireland. I am delighted that the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders' Association has once again nominated Dermot Cantillon as their representative."
